This property tax increase is unfair and needs to be debated heavily. I highly disagree with the increase being passed on to homeowners as many home owners are also business owners, and this affects our bottom line. On top of it most homeowners have families and it is extremely difficult to afford having a family in this city. Everything is so expensive, butter is on average seven dollars a pound. How are we supposed to afford groceries, and healthy food, if we have a massive increase year after year on our property taxes. And I think it’s an absolute slap in the face to be told that our service fees are going to be increasing as well given the fact that in the winter time we receive half the amount of services like garbage, recycling, and compost collection. Your snow removal budget should be separate from the services. City Council has a wealth of intelligence, and educated people. If they all put their heads together, surely they will be able to come up with a solution, other than increasing our property taxes again.

Hold the line on City Taxes for 2026 and start a deep dive into finding efficiencies across ALL departments. Hire outside efficiency experts to handle this. It cannot be done in house. The people causing the problems are not the ones who will fix them. The goal must be to reduce spending very significantly while maintaining and improving core services and infrastructures, therby REDUCING taxes from current rates. This can and must be done!!

The Greenline must undergo a foresnsic audit on work performed to date, and then rationalized to avoid any future cost over runs. If the final routing, and the final design cannot be determined at this point, then put work on hold until it is. We need to know what we are building and why, and costs MUST be contained. Construction should never have started cuntil the final design was known. This was incompetence at ALL levels and control MUST be taken back from the Unions on ALL projects.

The Unions need to be put in their place, and forced have a realization of who works for who. They for us, not us for them.

This out of control spending and incompetent budgeting must be reigned in immediately!! Common sense must again enter the equation. No ands, ifs, buts or maybe’s. Just do it!!
