Campaign Roundup - Day 28:
- This is our last Daily Campaign Roundup email, as tomorrow is Election Day! We hope you found these emails helpful and enjoyed hearing all the news from the campaign trail! If you appreciated the insight and would like to support our efforts on an ongoing basis, please consider signing up as a Common Sense Calgary supporter for just $10 a month. Our work is entirely funded by voluntary donations, so we greatly appreciate the support.
- Polls will be open tomorrow from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. You can find locations - as well as voter information - on the City’s website.
- The outcome of this election remains uncertain, with polling showing a tight race among the top contenders. Jeromy Farkas holds a narrow lead over incumbent Mayor Jyoti Gondek, Sonya Sharp, and Jeff Davison, but more than a third of voters remain undecided. Analysts say voter attention has been divided by provincial and national issues like the teachers’ strike, while many Calgarians feel uninspired by the available choices. Candidates are spending the final weekend knocking on doors and making last-minute appeals as they fight for support ahead of Monday’s vote.
- Mayoral candidate Jeff Davison got some attention with a drone show over McMahon Stadium. “Vote Davison” was spelled out in the sky, along with images of the Calgary Tower and other symbols depicting his campaign promises.
