An overpaid group of people hiding behind an appointed salary review Committee or Panel and posing as civic minded citizens. Hope the people who voted for this mayor and council are now happy with the result. I AM NOT. Wake up Calgarians!!!!

We seem to be getting higher taxes and less and less quality services. Many in this council are completely out of touch. You would take a lot more care of the budget if it was your money you were spending and you did not have the ability to get more budget money on demand.

Every level of government is fighting over tax dollars that come from one source, and continue to blame each other for shortfalls. Quit it!!

Do the right thing for Calgarians.

    Sincerely

    Frustrated ratepayer

Council could forego taking a pay hike if this had anything to do with caring about the people of Calgary.

In this time of despair and unprecedented hardship for the residents of Canada and The City of Calgary I would like to ask the Councilors and Mayor to take a step back and look deep inside themselves before they force this 7.8% tax increase on us. More people every day are succumbing to new levels of poverty because everything has increased in price. Please rethink your tax increase rate and give people a fighting chance. When the Mayor was asked what the extra money would be used for she replied something along this line, it will be saved for “unknown” future interests and projects. Wow, taking our money for an unknown expense in these very difficult times, just because they can. In closing, a more fair rate increase would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Property taxes have been going up between six and 8% per year for well over a decade. Enough is enough. It is time to get serious about keeping their spending under control.
