Many Calgarians are asking this very question.
The recent water main break that led to extended water restrictions has put core services into the spotlight.
People are questioning whether this water crisis was preventable and what the City is doing with our tax dollars.
Despite rising property taxes, complaints about services like snow removal, pothole repairs, basic maintenance, and infrastructure persist.
Clearly, there is an urgent need for a shift in priorities at City Hall.
Since the inception of Common Sense Calgary, more than a decade ago, we’ve been screaming from the rooftops for a return to prioritizing core services.
It's time for City Hall to listen.
Calgarians deserve reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted access to essential services that support their daily lives.
Prioritizing the maintenance and improvement of core infrastructure and services, such as water, sanitation, and roads, is the essential job of City Hall.
In fact, it should be the only job of City Hall.
Core services form the backbone of a functional and thriving city.
We must end non-essential projects that don’t directly benefit the majority of residents.
Our resources should be allocated where they are needed most, ensuring every dollar spent makes a real difference in our community.
Residents deserve to know their taxes are being used effectively and responsibly, with a clear focus on only the necessities.
No more chaos.
No more pet projects.
No more misplaced priorities.
It’s time for City Hall to get back to basics.

Enough of Interrupting transit travel on long weekends so that transit drivers can be paid BIG $$ OT pay driving frequent shuttles. How about do track repair during the night instead.
Why only 3 Car trains during the Stampede when the City spent Millions to Billions upgrading and designing 4 car platforms? Possibly another benefit for the transit union needing more train operators?
This mayor and councillors that support her need to STOP this gluttonous waste of Calgary Taxpayer’s money!!
