They should use their time wisely, focus on a Property Tax Reduction. This city needs a new slogan Make Calgary an affordable place to live.

It was a dumb idea that needs to be trashed. Council go back to the drawing board!

I am more than frustrated over this ridiculous plastic ban. Calgary and are under enough pressure without this nonsense. This law won’t help the environment one iota. Please with everything within me STOP IT NOW

This ban is ridiculous. I happily reused my plastics, (bags, utensils, paper napkins, even vitamin bottles) and did not waste. There is far more waste in the promoting of this silly campaign to tax people in effort to save the environment. There is far more waste by the governments for their luxuries than there is by the combined waste of the residents of this entire country, so this is not something I am mad about just in Calgary. The annual waste of leer jets and fleets of cars for government and entourage is a good example of how the rules for thee do not apply to me.

Please have this single use of disposables ban repealed.

    Thank you.

    Diana Hart

    Long time Calgary resident.

It’s crazy to do a take out from a fast food place & trying to use your cloth grocery shopping bag. It’s not healthy as there could be bacteria inside those bags’ I’m’ certainly not going to pay 25 cents next year for a paper bag. Come on City council! Common sense please!

Council has no authority to set pricing of retail goods like reusable bags. There should be an inquiry to see who profits from this and their ties to council.

This has to be one of the most ideologically based idiotic ideas to ever take place in Calgary! Absolutely ridiculous. Most of us recycle ALL our plastics etc. This is just more inconvenience for really NO REASON!

This is a stupid bylaw. Having to ask for a bag and cutlery at a fast food restaurant doesn’t make any sense and being charged extra is a money grab. I understand asking if you need cutlery, often you are taking it home and don’t need it so no sense providing it just to be thrown out. It should be provided for free like always. Bring back the grocery bags too while you are at it. Every grocery store should be able to provide the COOP style bags.
