I have written to J Gondek twice telling her not to lower speed limits, a cash cow of tickets from frustrated drivers. She blamed covid (people complaining of speeders). This was not true as council has planed this for several years. I also asked, since they plan to inconvenience everyone AND expense the whole city, ‘how many complaints & where‘ & she ignored my question. I am done with slick politicians.

Calgarians should decide in October’s municipal selection. Quit spending extra money that you do not have!

In a time our city is hurting for cash, I think it crazy to be spending on something that isn’t essential.

Calgargians need to have a say in speed limits in residential areas. Lowering speeds does not lower accidents or pedestrians getting hit and killed. Start with pedestrians watching for cars, walking without ear plugs would lower accidents stats. Maybe Council need to pass a law for no waking on streets with ear buds in your ears. That would make more sense than reducing speeds on the streets.

Well, I see where this is going. First, build the bike lanes across the city, then install 30 km/hr speed limits for vehicles. Soon it will be quicker and less frustrating to take your bikes or City transit to work rather than drive. Yeppers! Get the people out of their cars, move them all into inner city or pack them into public transit like sardines, just like in China. Oh, and let’s give this a nice new name such as "Sustainable living”. Yes! Beware of that word – “Sustainable”. We will be hearing it alot in the next few months/years to come and it won’t mean what you think it means. Oh, and btw, did you think that this is a new idea? This has been thought of years ago – before the bike lanes were ever built. We are just hearing about it now! Two sets of Rules – one for thee and one for me. Thee gets to keep their cars and me gets to walk, bike or take transit to work. How nice!
