Defund Calgary Council

On Wednesday, 4th November, Council voted 9-5 to defund the Calgary Police by $20 million.

You can see how your Councillor voted here:

Now if Council was actually cutting wasteful spending within the Police budget then maybe we could get behind this.

But yesterday's vote wasn't even to cut spending, it was to simply transfer $20 million from the Police budget to fund more of Council's activist pet projects.

Calgary Council has completely lost the plot and is no longer representing the majority of Calgarians.

Calgary's 2021 budget will be discussed later in November

I am very sick and tired of our Mayor making stupid decisions. why did our taxes go up? They appear to make decisions without public vote. I do not want to defund the police. More education is needed to help deal with untoward police issues. It’s time for the counsel members to make objective decisions. Not follow the media that portrays false narratives just to win popularity votes. Time for Nenshi to go!!!!!

We absolutely have to get rid of this council and replace it with people who are far more fiscally responsible. Most of them have been there too long for any good which they may have done, they are too familiar with the city staff and administration and are no longer in control of the agenda or the finances of the city. Let’s get rid of them all and start over
