Defund Calgary Council

On Wednesday, 4th November, Council voted 9-5 to defund the Calgary Police by $20 million.

You can see how your Councillor voted here:

Now if Council was actually cutting wasteful spending within the Police budget then maybe we could get behind this.

But yesterday's vote wasn't even to cut spending, it was to simply transfer $20 million from the Police budget to fund more of Council's activist pet projects.

Calgary Council has completely lost the plot and is no longer representing the majority of Calgarians.

Calgary's 2021 budget will be discussed later in November

This council is out of control, with the exception of a few who consistently disagree with the self-serving majority of concillors who need to be removed from this council as quickly as possible. De-funding police is one of the stupidest decisions ever made by Calgary’s City Council…led by someone who has never supported our police from the day he got elected, other than by offering lip service to his affinity for Calgary’s finest!
