Defund Calgary Council

On Wednesday, 4th November, Council voted 9-5 to defund the Calgary Police by $20 million.

You can see how your Councillor voted here:

Now if Council was actually cutting wasteful spending within the Police budget then maybe we could get behind this.

But yesterday's vote wasn't even to cut spending, it was to simply transfer $20 million from the Police budget to fund more of Council's activist pet projects.

Calgary Council has completely lost the plot and is no longer representing the majority of Calgarians.

Calgary's 2021 budget will be discussed later in November

Fund the police. Cut the salaries of mayor and councillors supporting this and like nonsense. Stop the pet projects. Reduce the size of city government. Stop the lobbyists. Decrease our property taxes now. Respect the taxpayers or get out of silly hall.

Take away Nenshi’s pensions! Any council members that would receive more than one pension should only be allowed one pension! Last time I checked there isn’t a government in office that actually deserves a pension let alone more than one!!
