Other jurisdictions are spending a ton in climate change, as are advocate groups. Remember that Calgary survives and thrives on energy, much of green, which the OIL industries spur. Oil industries are branching into green energy, so punishing oil industries takes away investment into green energy. CALGARY COUNCIL needs to focus on CITY issues: taxes. helping and fostering business. infrastructure. etc. NOT climate change. No need to hop on the bandwagon. You can support other climate initiatives, but please put our tax dollars to better use. Thank you so much,

A former councillor in another city (so I know what I’m talking about)… ;)

Our city is controlled by left wing mayor and government union backed councillors, who ridiculously claimed that we have climate emergency. Mayor Joyti Gondek should resign and go to work for green peace or something else.

When is the tax drain on citizens and businesses going to end. Does council not review ways to save money like privatization of some services. I’m guessing they won’t because CUPE gave a healthy financial donation to our mayor’s campaign to protect their jobs. Corruption continues………

Too much spend on city big projects. Every home to pay extra water, recycling, compose, garbage. Flood protection fee. All those add so high property tax is far more than any city residents pay city . Hire too many police do nothing, just catching drive spending. City government should clear mind. Don’t just thinking increase fee, tax.
