Update - 5th June 2020
During a portion of Monday's Green Line Committee meeting, councillors met in secret to discuss the financing of the Green Line LRT.
The City has now released the documents related to that financing discussion, and guess what...
The cost of the Green Line LRT has increased AGAIN, from $4.9 billion to $5.5 billion.
The City waited until AFTER Council voted to proceed with the project to disclose that the $4.9 billion price doesn't even include financing costs!

It's time to put an end to this madness once and for all.

Update - 31st May 2020
The City of Calgary has only just *finally* released a cost-benefit analysis for the Green Line LRT (something we've been calling for for years).
In their report, the City of Calgary's own figures show that the costs of the Green Line LRT outweigh the benefits by almost 2 to 1.

Cancel The Green Line To Nowhere
Calgary's Green Line LRT is perhaps the perfect example of a white elephant government project.
It's already massively over budget, running years late, and has already been cut down to less than half the length that was originally promised - all before the plan is even finalized.
It didn't meet a basic cost-benefit analysis when it was first imagined, the calculation got far worse when the project was amended, and the recent economic downturn and devastation of Calgary's downtown are the final straw.
Calgary Council should give up on their ridiculous Green Line LRT plan, and go back to the original plan of building a Bus Rapid Transit route for North and South East Calgary, that will be cheaper, more efficient, more flexible, and ready for Calgarians to use far sooner than any LRT line.
